Quill Lake Community Center

Quill Lake Community Hall

Our community center is a well maintained facility that hosts a number of community events and functions such as weddings, parties, caberets holiday functions and more. It features a stage, full sized kitchen, bar, and tables and seating for 350+. The hall and bar is operated by the local legion, and liquor licensing can be acquired for events. Optional catering/kitchen service is available though our Quill Lake Community Club.

Quill Lake Sports Grounds

Quill Lake Sports Grounds

Our community sports ground features ball diamonds, track, and acres of space for outdoor community events, ball tournaments, sporting/track and field events, and more. The grounds also offer an indoor space that includes a kitchen/concession booth, washrooms, picnic tables, and BBQ. Perfect for indoor weather escapes and dining during sporting events, private events and celebrations. Operational from spring through fall.

Quill Lake Memorial Arena

Quill Lake Memorial Arena

Built in 1967, the Quill Lake Memorial Arena features an open air hockey arena with an 80×180′ ice surface on one side of the building, and a three sheet curling rink on the other.  This arena hosts a number of local hockey teams, and is home to the Quill Lake Colts hockey team. Both the Ice and Curling rinks are only operational through the winter months.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch #37

Connected to the Quill Lake Community hall is the 37th Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. This smaller room attached to the hall is used to facilitate the 37th branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, its members, and its collection of local and Canadian military history.

This room is also available for rent for smaller meetings, gatherings and business funtions.

Quill Lake Senior's Center

Quill Lake Senior Centre

The Quill Lake Senior center is a local community gathering place for senior residents in the community.

Regular bingo games and crib nights are scheduled along with special events, stew dinners, and other activities.

This space is also available for rental and community use.

 A branch of the Parkland Regional Library, the Quill Lake Library offers local library services including branch transfer and borrowing of books and materials within the entire regional library service area.

Quill Lake Centennial Golf Course

Quill Lake Centennial Golf Course

Located a 1/2 mile south of the village, the 9 hole golf course features a fun and challenging course to par. A natural creek flows though the course, and offers a welcoming spot to relax and enjoy a round. A new 9 hole mini golf course has been set up as well for kids of all ages!

$5/round or $8 all day play

Golf Simulator

Not great golfing weather? No problem!

Quill Lake now has it’s own golf simulator! Located on the upper floor of the curling rink, enjoy some down time with friends while practicing your back swing all year round.

Two hour time slots for $20 per round.

Quill Lake Campground

Quill Lake Campground

Located just south of Hwy 5 in Quill Lake, you can find the Quill Lake Campground. The campground has 8 powered sites – four 15 Amp stalls and four 30 Amp stalls with fire pit. There is a group kitchen, outhouses, and water tap (non-potable) available, along with a dumping station located just outside of the grounds. Open May – October.

Quill Lake Tot Lot -

Tot Lot

Our local playground received a makeover in 2015 with the help and support of local businesses and volunteers.

Located on Goode Street between Assinaboine and Saskatchewan Avenues.

Snowmobile Trails

Snowmobile Trails

Every winter our local snowmobile club, the Quill Lake Trail Twisters groom and maintain a line of trail and help promote and host sno mobile rallys and derbys in the area.

Quill Lake Air Landing Strip

Quill Lake Air Strip

Also located aproximatly 1/2 mile south of town across from the Campground is a night-lit aircraft landing strip that is used primarily by local pilots, crop sprayers, and STARS air ambulance.

 

Local Organizations

Quill Lake Community Club

Founded in 1914 under the original name of the ‘Homemakers Club’,  the Quill Lake Community Club is a strong group of community oriented individuals who volunteer their time and talents with a number of community and fundraising projects that take place in town. Most notable is providing catering and kitchen services at the community hall for local events, including weddings, funerals, organizational gatherings and more.

Royal Canadian Legion #37

Connected to the Quill Lake Community hall is the 37th Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. The Quill Lake Branch is committed to the ongoing support in the lives of veterans and their families, providing service to our communities, and to the remembrance of the sacrifices made by those who have served for our country.

Quill Lake Seniors
The Quill Lake Seniors Drop in Centre came into being in 1972 by the efforts put forth by the former Quill Lake Kinettes club to create a Senior Citizens Organization and drop-in centre for local area elders.

Since it’s official opening in 1974, the Quill Lake Seniors Organization and the drop-in center have been a fixture on Main Street, and welcomes area seniors to come on out and join them for their regular card and bingo games!

Hockey
Teams of all ages ranging from Learn to Play, all the way to our Adult Quill Lake Colts team, this town loves hockey! For current team and league information please contact the Quill Lake Rec Board at 306-383-7045 (Shelly).

Calls for mens, ladies, and mixed curling teams and bonspiels are posted in December/January and continue through March/April. Please contact 306-383-7045 for information.

Quill Lake Minor ball 
Teams of all ages ranging from Learn to Play, to Under 15 are organized to play against other local community teams. Runs from snow melt (April/May) until the end of June. Please contact Kayla at 306-560-7096

Quill Lake School of Dance
Various dance styles taught to school age students including ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz and more. Runs from fall until April’s annual recital. Please contact Heidi at 306-554-8203 for more info.

Quill Lake School of Dance and Highland Dance Clubs

Highland Dance Club  Traditional Scottish highland dance is taught to school aged students ages beginning in the fall, through the winter with optional regional competitions held into the spring. Quill Lake Cemetery

Quill Lake Cemetery

The Quill Lake Cemetery is located 1/2 mile northeast of Quill Lake on the 640 grid, and is overseen by the Quill Lake Cemetery Association.

A memorial fund has been set up to pay for on going caretaking expenses, with an additional Tea and Bake Sale held every June.
